Test Messages Will be Sent to All TVs, Radios and Cell Phones
WASHINGTON -- FEMA, in coordination with the Federal Communications Commission (FCC), will conduct a nationwide test of the Emergency Alert System (EAS) and Wireless Emergency Alerts (WEA).
The national test will consist of two portions, testing WEA and EAS capabilities. Both tests are scheduled to begin at approximately 2:20 p.m. ET on Wednesday, Oct. 4.
The WEA portion of the test will be directed to all consumer cell phones. This will be the third nationwide test, but the second test to all cellular devices. The test message will display in either English or in Spanish, depending on the language settings of the wireless handset.

Mrs. Elder’s 1st grade class won the first “No Tardy Tater” incentive for the 2023-2024 school year. At the beginning of the year, each classroom received a Mr. Potato Head. Every day that the present students are in class ON TIME, they get to add a piece to their Mr. Potato Head. The class that gets all of the pieces added first wins a certificate to hang outside their classroom and a special treat. This is a friendly completion to encourage students to be present and on time!

Parents: due to the traffic problems which were on I-77 today, school buses may deliver students to your home later than usual. Please allow extra time for your child to arrive at home after school today. Thank you.

Parents, Friends and Community Members,
In an effort to make our schools as safe as possible, we are asking everyone to please be aware of West Virginia Code 61-7-11a which prohibits weapons of any kind on school property. We understand that many in our community may have permits to carry a concealed weapon, but you are not permitted to do so in a school building or on school property while attending school events.
Fayette County Schools will enforce this law to the best of our abilities and we will notify law enforcement of any violations. We appreciate your cooperation and courtesy in abiding by this law.
