It might be a rainy day, but our #WonderfulWednesday Senior Spotlight, the fantastic ✨Shelby Pauley✨, shines bright every day!
Shelby is the middle child and oldest daughter of three, and she shares a special bond with her older brother, Austin, and younger sister, Rory.
A dedicated student, she’s part of the pre-engineering program at FIT and is a member of both the OHHS National Honor Society and the National Honor Society for High School Scholars.
Shelby has been a proud member of the Marching Red Devils for all four years, spending the last three on the drumline and now serving as this year’s front ensemble section leader.
Her future plans include attending WVU to study Astrophysics, but for now, you can also find her working at The Frozen Barn.
In her free time, Shelby enjoys reading anything by Andy Weir or manga, playing D&D with her best friends Connor and Aidan, and listening to her favorite bands—Two Door Cinema Club and Glass Animals.
Her contagious laugh lights up every room, and both her family and school community are so proud of her. We can’t wait to see all that she accomplishes! ❤️🖤

A huge thank you to guest speaker Jay Young of Iron Arch Photo for visiting our junior aerospace students! Jay—who has been featured in National Geographic and is the only approved drone photographer for Bridge Day—shared his expertise on everything from photo composition, editing programs, file management, and twilight photography to FAA drone laws (plus a few epic drone crash stories). Students were so engaged they kept him in a half-hour Q&A afterward! We are especially grateful he took time out of busy Gauley Season to inspire our class. Thank you, Jay! ❤️🖤
