Colten Burns is a senior at OHHS and Fayette Institute of Technology, where he’s enrolled in the Computer Technology program. Outside of school, you can usually find him fishing, playing golf, or relaxing with his favorite video games. He enjoys beach vacations, hanging out with family and friends, and simply making the most of life.
Colten works part-time at Bob Evans Restaurant, and when he’s not on the clock, he’s often cruising around with the music turned up. At home - his favorite place to be - he loves spending time with his bulldog, Piper. Colten’s favorites include the color blue, Twix candy, and an ice-cold Dr. Pepper. One of his most meaningful roles is being a proud big brother to his stepbrother and stepsister.
After graduation, Colten plans to join his dad’s hydroseeding company and continue building a future close to home. With his love for family, strong work ethic, and easygoing spirit, Colten is ready to take on whatever comes next! ❤️🖤

Today, Oak Hill High School welcomed WV Secretary of State Field Representative Lee Dean and Fayette County Clerk Michelle Holly to speak with our seniors about the importance of voting. Students learned about Jennings Randolph, the West Virginia Senator who led the charge to lower the voting age from 21 to 18, and how his work continues to impact young voters today.
Seniors also had the chance to register to vote during the visit and to experience voting on a practice ballot. If 85% of our eligible seniors register, Oak Hill High School will earn the Jennings Randolph Award!
We are grateful to Mr. Dean and Ms. Holly for empowering our students to be informed and engaged citizens! ❤️🗳️🖤

Kierstyn Settle is hard-working, smart, and kind. As the middle child of six, she has grown up surrounded by the love and energy of a big family—including her dog and cat. Kierstyn is currently taking her second year of nursing at FIT and previously completed the junior nursing course at West Virginia Tech. She aims to graduate with honors while also working at Starbucks and maintaining her excellent grades.
Kierstyn is excited for all of this year’s senior activities, especially the long-awaited moment of graduation. Some of her favorite things include Sweet Tarts, Dr. Pepper, the music of Koe Wetzel, the color purple, and spending time with her family. Her favorite place to be is anywhere on vacation, making memories away from home. Quiet but full of fun, Kierstyn is a true daddy’s girl and her momma’s world. Her family couldn’t be prouder of all she has accomplished, and neither could we!
