Dear New River Primary Panther Families, Parent Teacher conferences will be held on Wednesday, March 27, 4:00 to 7:00 PM. Your child's teacher will call you or you may contact your child's teacher to make an appointment. If your child received a possible retention letter, I highly recommend that you attend this conference. Also, after school tutoring will be cancelled on Wednesday, March 27, 2024. All students will be sent home according to their regular dismissal procedures. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact the school and speak to your child's teacher. Dear New River Primary staff this message has two messages. one for the next three days. We will be doing breakfast in classroom as we have a parent group coming in at 9 and we will not be able to clean the cafeteria in time for these meetings. Fayette County Schools and Save the Children Federation, Inc. will be submitting a joint application under the West Virginia Department of Education’s Nita M. Lowery 21st Century Community Learning Center Program. If funded, this academic and enrichment program will offer afterschool and summer programming for students at New River Primary and New River Intermediate. Good evening New River Primary Parents/Guardians. I have a few announcements. First, this is just a reminder that if you plan to attend Dr. Seuss Night on Thursday, March 7, 2024, your blue RSVP half sheet is due back to the school no later than tomorrow, Tuesday, February 27, 2024. Next, March the 5, 2024 is our PTA meeting here at NRP at 5:00. Hope to see you there. We will be reviewing and updating the Student, Parent, School Compacts for each grade level as well as the Family Engagement Policy for next School year. We hope to see you there.

Dear New River Primary School Families, I have a few important announcements. The Oak Hill campus will be every congested this week as Oak Hill Middle School is hosting a basketball tournament and their games for tomorrow starts at 4:15 PM. We anticipate a great deal of traffic on the Oak Hill campus so please do not arrive before 3:30 tomorrow. If you arrive before 3:30 you will be directed to park in the gravel lot until dismissal time starts. Please do not talk or text while dropping off or picking up your children. Please follow the directions of staff on duty. Please obey all traffic signs on campus. Please remember there is no passing in the car rider lane. Pick up time is 3:30. Please do not arrive before 3:30 to pick up your child or children. Please follow the times provided. Morning drop off starts at 8:05 and ends at 8:35. Parents when you enter the Oak Hill campus, please park your cell phone. We want to keep our students and staff safe, so we need you to pay attention while driving on our campus. We are having our Data and Desserts event Thursday, February 15, 2024, from 5:00 -6:30 PM. Please plan to attend. You will meet with your child's teacher and then have a small dessert. We are excited to get this program started to meet the needs of your children and our students. We have a few things that we need you to do to help us run a smooth program. If your child is not staying for after school, you will need to write a note to the teacher letting us know. You will need to write a note each day they are not staying for after school and please provide the reason they will miss after school. On the note you will indicate if the child is to ride their regular bus with bus number or if they are a car rider. This information will be very helpful. After school notices will be sent via school messaging system and notes home when possible. If there is an early dismissal for any reason after school will automatically be canceled. This message is for all car rider parents, we have made numerous request that you not arrive before 3:30 PM. Yesterday we have parents lined up all around the car rider loop and up to the hill. When you arrive that early you block normal traffic procedures for the school and the Oak Hill campus. Please do not arrive before 3:30 in the car rider lane. Please park in the gravel lot at the top of the hill. Also parents you need to leave your car rider tag displayed until your child is placed in your vehicle. Thank NRP Staff
