Dear Teachers and Instructional Aides currently working with substitute teachers:
I have placed all report cards that are ready for distribution in your mailboxes. You will also find a grade verification sheet included. Please note:
• If a grade is missing from the verification sheet, it will not appear on the report card. You will need to update Schoology accordingly.
• I’ve spoken with some of you about marking grades directly on the verification sheet and returning it to my mailbox. Please continue to do so.
• All teachers must review their verification sheets, make any necessary corrections, in Schoology and on the verification sheet and return them to me.
o If no corrections are needed, simply write “Correct as is”.
o All sheets must be signed and dated. please remember to copy the work habits on the back of each report card and send the report cards home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Also remember this is parent teacher conference day.
Deadline: End of day Monday, October 20, 2025
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for those who responded to my messages over the weekend. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,
Lee R. Jones

📚✨ Parent Data Day ✨📚 On September 30th, we held our Parent Data Day for Reading! Parents joined us for a presentation on iReady learning how it’s used in the classroom and how to read and interpret their child’s results. Afterward, families headed to classrooms where they read “The True Story of the Three Little Pigs” together and completed fun, engaging activities that went along with the story. 🐺📖🐷 A huge thank you to all the parents who came out to support their children’s learning and take part in this special day. 💙 📸 Note: Photos shared from this event were taken with permission. Not all photos are posted, as some students in the background of photos do not have photo permissions.

Dear Panther Families,

I have two important messages to share:

1. Save the Children Program Applications
If your child received an invitation to participate in the Save the Children Program, the completed application and related documents were due back at school today. If you would still like your child to participate, please ensure all forms are returned tomorrow. After tomorrow, any unclaimed slots will be offered to other students.

2. School Safety and Car Rider Procedures
For morning drop-off:

Do not drop off your child unless a staff member is present to receive them.
Do not allow your child to exit the vehicle unless an adult is standing by to assist.
For afternoon pick-up:

Do not arrive before 3:30 PM. Early arrivals block the roadway and prevent buses from entering the bus loop.
If someone else picks up your child, please make sure they are aware of this rule.
Thank you for your attention to these matters and for helping us keep our students safe.

Sincerely,
Lee R. Jones

Transporting Students by Car to New River Primary and New River Intermediate Schools
2025-2026 School Year
Driving Directions
• I have only one child who is going to New River Primary (PreK to 2nd Grade):
Enter the Oak Hill School Complex and drive straight toward Oak Hill High School. You will pass New River Intermediate and FIT (vocational school) on your right and then you will see driveway to NRP on your right. Drive down the hill to the stop sign. Turn right and enter the car rider lane. Drop off your child or children at the front doors of the school. Always go to the first empty spot. Staff will be on duty to assist you. Your child will walk through the front doors of the school. To exit, turn left up the hill then turn left again to exit the school complex toward Oyler Avenue. Please, have students on the right side of the car so they can exit safely onto the sidewalk. NRP staff will NOT fasten and unfasten seat belts. Please do not drop you children off unattended.
• I have only one child who is going to New River Intermediate (NRI) (Grades 3-5):
Enter the Oak Hill School Complex and immediately take the first road on the right
indicated by the New River Intermediate school sign. Drive behind the school on the
single lane road until you reach one of 4 drop off spots. Always go to the first empty spot. Two NRI employees are on duty. Your child will exit your car and walk down the sidewalk and enter the building. Proceed to the end of the road and turn left and exit the Oak Hill School Complex. A suggestion…Have your child sitting behind the driver so they can safely and swiftly exit your car on the left side where the sidewalk is located.

NOTE: Our goal is to provide all students at NRP and NRI with a good breakfast. We encourage parents to let their child ride the bus, which allows them ample time to eat breakfast. The car rider lanes at the school complex has historically been very long and time consuming. Students arriving late after the breakfast program ends will be provide a grab-and-go breakfast. As you travel on the Oak Hill Campus please make sure to follow all traffic signals of the traffic directors.
