Kindergarten lunch is today Wednesday, November 12, 2025. Sorry about the confusion. Kindergarten Parents we will see you soon.
We’re excited to welcome you to our Thanksgiving Lunch this week!
Kindergarten – Wednesday, November 12th at 11:15 a.m.
First Grade – Thursday, November 14th at 11:15 a.m.
Second Grade – Friday, November 15th at 11:15 a.m.
Please remember that adult lunches are $5, and children’s lunches (for those who do not attend NRP) are $3.
Parents, please plan to arrive between 10:15 and 10:30 a.m. to allow time for check-in.
Be sure to bring your photo ID and have it ready when you arrive to help us check you in quickly.
For everyone’s safety, please leave all weapons at home — including knives, firearms, tasers, or similar items. After check-in and going through the evolve system you will go to the STEM lab where you will wait for your child. We will not start calling students until 11:00 am. You may have a wait once you arrive in the STEM lab. Once the mill is finished, we ask that you leave the school promptly so we can prepare for the next student lunch. If you wish to take your child with you, we will have staff members in the hallway for you to sign them out. We look forward to sharing a wonderful Thanksgiving meal with you and your children! 🦃
Warm regards,
The New River Primary Team

Please be advised that beginning Monday, November 3, 2025, students who ride Bus 1944 will be arriving home 30 minutes earlier than usual.
We kindly ask that you make the necessary arrangements to ensure someone is available to meet your child at the bus stop at the earlier time.

Happy Halloween Eve. If your student is a car rider and you need to drop off items for their Halloween Party on Friday, October 31, 2025, you can do this when you drop your student off in car rider on Friday, October 31, 2025. If you can have your student's name and teacher on the items that would be great. If not, we will have sticky notes available for the staff in the car rider to place on your items prior to placing them on the cart.
Halloween Parade
New River Intermediate is coming to our school starting at 9:15/9:30 am. After they leave our building NRP will be coming out and up the hill toward the HS. You can park in the upper gravel lot. We will be walking past FIT on the sidewalk then curving in front of NRI and around back to our school.
Since there is a lot going on we are only do a student Halloween Party.
If it rains the parade will be canceled.
Sincerely,
NRP Staff
Your child should have brought home a candy bar fundraiser form today. If you are interested in selling candy bars, please fill out the top of the form and return it to the school office by Friday, October 31, 2025. You will need to come to the school on Monday, November 3, 2025, between 5pm and 7pm to pick up the candy bars as we are not allowed to send them home with your student. Thank you for helping raise money for our PTA. This money will help with the incentives that we provide for our students.

Dear Teachers and Instructional Aides currently working with substitute teachers:
I have placed all report cards that are ready for distribution in your mailboxes. You will also find a grade verification sheet included. Please note:
• If a grade is missing from the verification sheet, it will not appear on the report card. You will need to update Schoology accordingly.
• I’ve spoken with some of you about marking grades directly on the verification sheet and returning it to my mailbox. Please continue to do so.
• All teachers must review their verification sheets, make any necessary corrections, in Schoology and on the verification sheet and return them to me.
o If no corrections are needed, simply write “Correct as is”.
o All sheets must be signed and dated. please remember to copy the work habits on the back of each report card and send the report cards home on Tuesday, October 21, 2025. Also remember this is parent teacher conference day.
Deadline: End of day Monday, October 20, 2025
Thank you for your attention to this matter and for those who responded to my messages over the weekend. Your cooperation is greatly appreciated.
Sincerely,

PTA Meeting Tonight – All Parents Welcome!
We invite you to join us for a PTA meeting tonight at 6:00 PM in the School Cafeteria. This is a great opportunity for parents to come together with teachers to support the success and well-being of our students.
The work of the PTA directly benefits all students at NRP, and every parent is welcome to attend and participate. Your voice and involvement make a difference!
We hope to see you there and look forward to working together as a strong community of parents and educators.
Warm regards,
NRP School Administration

I have two important messages to share:
1. Save the Children Program Applications
If your child received an invitation to participate in the Save the Children Program, the completed application and related documents were due back at school today. If you would still like your child to participate, please ensure all forms are returned tomorrow. After tomorrow, any unclaimed slots will be offered to other students.
2. School Safety and Car Rider Procedures
For morning drop-off:
Do not drop off your child unless a staff member is present to receive them.
Do not allow your child to exit the vehicle unless an adult is standing by to assist.
For afternoon pick-up:
Do not arrive before 3:30 PM. Early arrivals block the roadway and prevent buses from entering the bus loop.
If someone else picks up your child, please make sure they are aware of this rule.
Thank you for your attention to these matters and for helping us keep our students safe.
Sincerely,
Lee R. Jones
Principal
