Echoes of Africa

WELCOME BACK, VPK8 GREYHOUNDS!

We hope everyone had a refreshing and restful Spring Break! As we return to the halls of VPK8, we are thrilled to welcome our students back as we dive straight into a final stretch defined by excellence and community spirit.

Our school thrives because of the incredible people who pour their hearts into our students. We would like to recognize Mrs. Kohli, Mrs. Ward, Mrs. Slayton, Mrs. Hampe, and Mrs. Hamm for their hard work in creating a truly memorable Parent Engagement Activity. We also appreciate the entire VPK8 staff for their incredible flexibility with lunch, recess, and dance rehearsals during the planning phases of this event.

To our parents and guardians, thank you for your continued partnership; you truly are the backbone of our school community.

VPK8 extends a very special thank you to Rhonda Chuyka for her invaluable contribution. Rhonda, thank you for taking the time to teach our students the history of African dance and guiding them through those powerful, rhythmic steps!

We are also deeply grateful to Mrs. Dooley and Mr. Harper for visiting VPK8. Your presence and support for our staff, students, and community demonstrate a sincere, unwavering dedication from the central office to every child’s success.

To our amazing students, your hard work in Empowerment has truly paid off. Thank you for sharing your growth through your beautiful art and cultural displays. We are so proud of what you have accomplished.

"Alone we can do so little; together we can do so much. A strong community is the foundation upon which every student’s success is built."

A final thank you to the community members who dedicated their time to setting up our activity room. You created a beautiful space for our families to learn and grow together.

Let’s make this a fantastic final stretch of the school year! Go Greyhounds!
