Grad Walk 2026

On Tuesday, May 19, Midland Trail High School’s Class of 2026 took a meaningful walk down memory lane as graduating seniors returned to the schools where many of their educational journeys first began.

The annual Graduation Walk provided seniors with the opportunity to revisit their former elementary schools—Ansted Elementary, Divide Elementary, Fayetteville PreK-8, and Valley PreK-8—while proudly wearing their caps and gowns. The special tradition allowed younger students, teachers, and staff to line the hallways, cheer on the graduates, and celebrate this important milestone.

For the seniors, the experience was filled with pride, reflection, and emotion as they walked through the same hallways where they once learned to read, made childhood friendships, and began building the foundation for their futures. Many had the chance to reconnect with former teachers and staff members who played an important role in their educational journey.

For younger students, the Graduation Walk served as a powerful reminder of what is possible through hard work, perseverance, and dedication. Seeing former students return as graduating seniors helped create a vision of future success and inspired the next generation of learners.

“Graduation Walk is one of the most meaningful traditions we celebrate each year,” said Midland Trail High School Principal Richard Petitt. “It gives our seniors a chance to reflect on how far they have come while inspiring younger students to dream big and work toward their own future goals. It is a wonderful reminder that every educational journey begins with a single step.”

The event also provided a special moment for families and school communities to celebrate the accomplishments of the Class of 2026 as they prepare for Commencement.

As Midland Trail seniors prepare to cross the stage at Commencement on Friday evening at Patriot Stadium, the Graduation Walk served as a heartfelt reminder of the journey that brought them to this milestone—from elementary classrooms to graduation day.

Midland Trail High School proudly congratulates the Class of 2026 and thanks Ansted Elementary, Divide Elementary, Fayetteville PreK-8, and Valley PreK-8 for helping make this cherished tradition so memorable.
