General tips

Restarting the computer:

·       Press the Start button (Surface logo) at the bottom of the screen on the Taskbar.

·       Select the Power icon to the right of the window (Start menu).

·       Select ‘Restart’.

Shutting down:

·       Press the Start button (Surface logo) at the bottom of the screen on the Taskbar.

·       Select the Power icon to the right of the window (Start menu).

·       Select ‘Shut down’.

Performing a power (hard) reset:

Surface computer:

Hold down the power button until the screen goes black AND until the Surface logo comes up on the screen, then release. It may take up to 30 seconds.

Asus ExpertBook:

Plug in the power adapter.

Hold down the power button for 40 seconds, then release.

Wait for 10 seconds, then press the power button once.
